Happy New Years!

God has truly blessed us in 2010!  It has been a year of change and miracles!

I guess it really hit me on Christmas morning when I received a hat from my parents.  It was one of those hats with the brim all the way around it.  I had asked for it so that my bald head wouldn't get burn while we are on the mission field.  While I was looking at it, something inside of me said, "You have no use for that here, this hat is for Guyana."  It was like fireworks went off in my heart!  It's Go Time!  God has laid the path before us and the time to begin this new ministry is coming closer!
Please help us ring in the New Year by getting on your knees and praying for the Carib people of Guyana, and for us as we prepare to minister to them.  We would like to keep you informed of what is going on so starting in January we are going to be doing a six week blog series on the Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How, of our journey.  Keep checking in to hear what God is doing or how you can help.

Praises:
1. God has connected us with a missionary who lived in the town we will be living in, there in Guyana.
2. The house we will be living in will be rented to us for only $150/month.
3. We received a free copy of the Jesus Film in the Carib language.
4. We are at 13% of our financial goal!
5. We only lack $370 to complete our start up budget.
6. Our hearts are growing more in love with the people of Guyana, which we hope to meet in 2011!

He Reigns!!!

Christmas is the time of year when we celebrate the birth of our Savior.  The God of Heaven and earth humbled Himself, taking on the form of a human, being tempted as we are, yet He was without sin.  He was bruised for our transgressions and crushed for our iniquities, and the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him.  But, Hallelujah!, HE LIVES!!!

Its easy to think of baby Jesus in the manger.  However, we musn't forget: He will return.  He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords!  Though we may not bow right now, upon His returning every knee will bow and every tongue will sing His praise!

John paints a glorious picture for us in Revelation 7:9-10: 'After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!"'

Its easy to think of the baby Jesus in the manger.  But consider another picture of Jesus as John again describes in Revelation:  'Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse.  And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.  His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns.  He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.  He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.' (19:11-13)

Praise God for coming to earth this Christmas.  Praise Him for being the Author and Perfecter of our faith.  Praise Him as the Wonderful Counselor.  Praise Him as the Prince of Peace.  Praise Him as the Comforter.  But don't forget to praise Him as King of kings and Lord of lords!  Don't forget to praise Him as Almighty God, the Holy One!  Don't forget to praise Him as the Lion of Judah!

Thank you, Jesus, for who You are.  You are a Great King!  I pray You reign in our hearts and our lives each and every moment.  May You be glorified and made great among the nations.

Merry Christmas!!!

Hope!

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
Can you find the hope in these words?

Niether can the Carib people of Guyana.
